Biography
Alexis Whitecar, a native of North Carolina, started her dance training at the young age of three. She studied under the direction of Gary and Rita Taylor, directors of High Point Ballet during her adolescence. There she was able to participate in Regional Dance America, SERBA, a festival for the Southeast Regions competitive dance institutions ,which gave her opportunities to dance across the Southeastern United States, and was able to attend Regional Dance Americas International festival in Montreal, Canada in 2012. Her love for dance brought her to the west coast to attend Utah Valley University. At Utah Valley University, she developed a passion for modern dance and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Modern Dance. At UVU, she has danced and choreographed on Synergy Dance Company from 2017-present. She also was awarded a performing scholarship at UVU, as well as being on the Dean's list 5 years in a row. The highlight of her career was to be able to have been chosen to be a performer at Walt Disney World in Florida in 2016. Currently, Alexis just received her teaching license from Utah Valley University and is looking forward to educating the future generations about the art form of dance, especially those at American Fork Junior High
